Fastest way to naming beams?

Hi everyone. I'm working on a structure with many beams and levels so i have to name or label each beam with a number previously assigned. This name must be reflected later on list of materials.
So far i was able to assign a prefix to all beams very simple, but assign a number for each beam is tedious (Properties of beam-Naming-Single Part Mark).
The question is if you know other ways to naming parts of a structure more quickly (i would like some command or edit like an attribute on autocad haha)

can you post some example here? To label the parts with a number previously assigned (predefined part numbers) - this can be do manually only - double click on object and set the Single / Main part number. I know this from Autocad, BUT I don't know anyone who would do it in Advance Steel for all objects in model! 

Use the numbering tool in Advance Steel to get the numbers automatic.

You can still do the numbering for some parts manually and then for the rest automatically via numbering tool.

This is the right way. The user must adapt to the software if they cannot bend it 😁. 

Make a test with the numbering tool / different settings in this on some test model and you will be surprised.

For privacy of the company, i cannot post the model. But the thing is: i have a structure numbered on Autocad 2d. Each part already have a name with a prefix. I just have to set those names also in the AS model. I know how to do it manually, but i wanna know if exists some way to do it faster, cause double clicking+naming+single name part takes me a million years.

I don't know how could be faster, maybe a lisp routine or something. That's why i'm asking.

I tried Numbering tool but i found it unconfortable, i will give it a second chance. Thank you.

If you can't use the logic / possibilities of Advance Steel and you have a different numbering rule that is incompatible with the rules in Advance Steel, then you probably have a lot of manual work waiting for you. If this is the only option, then use the "Model browser". There you can easily display the property columns you want to change and edit them easily. Lisp won't help if you have some undefinable numbering from 2D.
