External BOM - Bolts/Anchor Summary list - Nuts & Washer listed twice

Good Morning,

we are working on our template for external BOM summary bolt & anchor list (sort of shopping list).

We started started with default UK-Bolt & Anchor list.

When we created the list we have noticed that M20 Nuts and Washer are listed twice: firstly the quantity of all Nuts and washers in Bolt Assembly and then for the second time quantity of M20 Nuts and Washers in Anchor Assembly.

These nuts and washer are identical (Coating, Grade, Dia,...., we also checked the database and the same nuts & washers are used for bolt assy and anchor assy ). Is there any way how to create a total count of elements regardless the type of fixing they are used in? Meaning that we would have just one record of M20 Nuts containing quantity  of these nuts used for Bolt assembly and also Anchor assembly?

Please see attached pictures showing the template we use to produce the list and then the produced list itself. 

-we have also tried to remove GroupHeader completely from the report but with no result.

hello,

In this case there is nothing wrong in your BOM, the fault is in your model.

if you can check through project browser you will find that there are 24 bolts of both type that has got lengths different from the length of the other 216 bolts, so you need to match the lengths and then you can see the list.

if this worked for you then please accept it as a solution.

Hi,

thank you for your reply, however i am not sure if this answers my question. I am not worried about bolts because I know that I have got two different types and diameters and several lengths in my model. 

What I was referring to were nuts and washers. These are all same throughout the project and in bolt/anchor assembly. All M20 nuts are HEX 8.8 BS 3692 and all M20 washers are Flat 8.8 DIN 125.

These are however listed separately for bolt set and for anchor set even though it is the same nut and washer is used for bolts and anchors. 

And what we ideally want is all these nuts and washers to be listed together and not in separate groups.

Sorry, I misunderstood the concept, can you please send me the model and the template you are using so that I cn check the actual issue cuz this issue requires further investigation.

Hi,

please see attached testing model. Model is created in 2019 version.

It won't let me attached a database containing the list due to its size but the only modification we did is basically removing GroupHeader from BOM template Bolt & Anchor list. Once the group is removed you'll get the exact template we have at the moment.
