Exploding to CAD dwg

Hi,

I am having an issue with exploding detail drawings to CAD drawing. All the sections come with the same layer from AS model except the grating. Is there a way to fix this? I had a look on explode settings, but the beam & grating had the same configuration (explode with the same layer).

Thanks

Abraham

There is settings under the explode options to configure, it goes back to a database table.

From memory think there is a setting in Management tools to use explode settings .

If you are using 2017 onwards, there is the opition to install the ADvance steel object enabler, on the machine you wish to view the drawings and if they have autocad or autocad LT, then you can view the drawings without need to explode.

Thanks for the response.

Is there any videos or webinars for the explode settings?

Hi @bageseabraham,

Thank you for using Advance Steel forum 🙂

There is a known issue with the explode details to AutoCAD for gratings, that the option "Same as detail" will place the grating lines on the layer "0".

This behavior is documented and sent to the development team for further investigations.

As solution for now, you could set the explode layer for grating to a specific one (like "Gratings" for example), instead of using the option "Same as detail"

You might find helpful also this article:

I hope this will help you

Best regards,
