Exploding Special Parts to ACIS

Hi,

I need to explode my whole model, including all my special parts to ACIS (for import into 3DS Max or similar software to render).

All special parts are made from AS parts but inserted as special parts to essentially 'block them'.

However when I explode the model, everything that is not a special part exploded as expected, but the special parts are not included in the exploded version and just disappear...

Can anyone help me get around this?

thanks

Hi @ross.hutchingsPR7Z2

We had this on support with someone a couple of weeks ago. I found this article that explains if the special parts contain Advance Steel objects then they dont behave as expected.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/advance-steel/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/...

If you open he special parts, explode the objects in the special part, then update the special parts in the model they will explode as you want them.

I did speak with Autodesk and @Emanuel.Nestor added the following "But as soon as you add a Shorten feature on the beam end, the special part will disappear when explode it to solids"
