I'm trying to insert a BOM that represents a separate line for the bolt, nut and washer and I'm having no luck.  Help!

Check the Management Tools > Bolts section to see if the bolt configuration is set to explodable.

Yes, I have that box checked.  For some reason I think I don't think my settings in the management tools are syncing with my drawings.  I've updated the defaults in the model and then go to update details and nothing happens.  I changed a setting to show the zero after the feet for instance it was 20' and I want it to show 20'-0" I assume I changed the right setting to show this but it doesn't update.

I see that you can create a LIST that produces a separate line item for the nuts and washer but how do you insert a B.O.M with separate line items?  Frustrated this has me at a roadblock.

Hi,

Try this.

Open your BOM Template for the BOM on Drawing.

Go to Project Settings there and set the units you want.

Then go to List Sorting and Content and in the dialog, on the content page tick "Explode bolts".

Then update your drawings.

Hello from Belgium,

I'm Nina (Student).

I have the same problem with the exploded bolt list in my user list.

I use a lot of  bolts ISO 4017 - M16 x 65 - 8.8.  I want in my BOM list find 3 rows

Like that:

Hexagon bolt ISO 4017 - M16 x 65 - 8.8
washer EN ISO 7089 - 16 - 200 HV
Hexagon nut ISO 4032 - M16 - 8

When I select the default Advance List - Assembly list - exploded bolts the result is good.

But when I use my personnal List the result is Bad I have only M16x65.

In my List template In the dialog box "Reports Contents" I've activated -Bolts + Bolts in Site & Exploded bolts.

I Close and save It. I close the soft. I restart but nothing. It's always bad.

Could you help me please. I've read all forum and the proposed solutions. Honestly I"m lose.

Best regards Nina

Hi,

It sounds like you are doing everything right so it should be working. Just to be 100% clear, you can only edit lists in the User part of the folder structure in the BOM Editor. (You can edit Project Templates too but you can't access them from the BOM Templates palette). If you call up the list form the BOM Templates palette make sure you click the flag on the title bar of the palette and change it to a man so you are using the User templates. You probably have all that right.

The second thing to check is to go to the Management Tools > Bolts and look up your chosen bolt. Then on the Parameters page you will see a tick box saying "Explodable". Make sure this is ticked. You need to tick it and click apply for each and every combination of the 4 properties above the box and Set.  Do the main choice you use and test it first. Update Defaults then generate your list again.

I hope that helps.

Hi,

Facing the same problem for the 2025 version. I can't find "Project Setting" in the template. Can you share it with images? It will help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance...
