Hello,

in the attached file is a part with an extra red line, in general how do you erase or hide these lines?  the red line is attached to the piece.

Thanks

Tim

Hi,

this is the system line, this is the primary part of the advance steel beam elements used thought out the system, it’s like the wire line in an analytical model, you use this to place and model the primary length of the steel, connecting node to node, then using shorten features, cut at object commands and joint/connections, the beams are trimmed back to their manufactured length.

this element is also key to most drawing styles and dimension rules within the drawing production system.
if you do not wish to see it in created 2D drawings, you can change the colour and set that to non plot via the ctb file.

cheers

Hi John,

where do I go to change the colour and set it to non print layer?

I've attached a jpeg showing a piece from a fabrication drawing with the system line being dimensioned. this is what I'm trying to change, having system lines of pieces being dimensioned.

For a permanent solution, you will need to edit your drawing styles to not show the system line.  In the meantime, the workaround is to select the piece on the drawing and right-click then select "Advance Properties".  Un-check "System Line" to remove it from the detail or you can change the color/line type.
