HI,

You copied the style but all the elements inside the style are still shared by many styles. The warning is telling you that you are editing something that is used in other styles too so your changes will affect more than just this one place.

You need to copy each element within the style as you go to avoid this. You are editing a dimension request. That is part of a Dimension Strategy which is part of a view request which is part of a Drawing Style so you need to copy the View Request FIRST, then the Dimension Strategy and finally the Dimension Request. For each of these you can use the NEW button next to the name of the page. Then your request is unique to the new items and you will not have any unwanted effects on other existing items.

I tested a deep copy and it stopped with the warning.....I am not sure of it being a good solution so I didn't go anywhere with it.

Hi,

If you use Deep Copy it Copies every single sub-entry as unique even if it is something simple like "Off" for a label so you end up with umpteen copies that are identical to being with but might have been edited and you don't know. Such as "Copy of OFF", "Copy (1) of Off", "Copy (2) of Off" etc which are impossible to control and keep organised. Plus it make the database bigger and slower. We always teach to avoid Deep Copy.

Here is where I am at. The "My Style" is empty in the "View Name" list. The copied parts are above it. When I copied a style it goes to the bottom of the list from which I copied, I have to drag it down to "My Style". In the "view name" list does not reflect it.

Hi,

You choose which folder the view is in on the "Assignment Categories" page (in your screenshot) not by dragging it in any list.
