Drawing frame doesn't work in custom prototype

Hello,

I have a problem with drawing frame block... The issue is it doesn't work or rather work opposite way that is suppose.

I deleted all past blocks attributes with _purge command and then made an existing frame with same block name. However, AS locates all elements beside this frame...??

I attached my prototype. Could you test it and tell me why is it broken?

Hi,

Try the ATTSYNC command on your block. (ATTSYNC, select, pick block and enter, yes). AutoCAD does not update attribute definitions inside existing blocks without using this command.

"This block has no attributes" that is what the CAD says.

I made once again new prototype using following:

The same result, help me please... :<

Hi Michal,

To work your prototype correctly... You should set-up left-lower frame coordinate to be (X,Y)=0;0.

In Your prototype it is actually X = -883.4321     Y = -57.5587     Z = 0.0000, and first (and last) detail is drawn near HYPERSTEELPAGEHEADER title block.

Please try "_AstM5DetSetArranger" command where You can set-up where and how details are drawn.

You can set-up page format, on what position (coordinates) is first detail drawn, details direction and so on...

Your hint was very helpful, thank you!

However I've got a few questions again.

Why _AstM5DetSetArranger tool coordinates are diffrent from CAD page setups?

Why _AstM5DetSetArrange tool ignores my choice about details placement order in prototype? Do I have to change it manually on each drawing?

Hi Michal,

I had the same problem in preparing prototypes few months ago and my answer to your topic question was based on results of "trial and error" method.

I didn't find any video on Youtube desrcibing _AstM5DetSetArranger tool - all videos were based only on HYPERSTEELPAGEFRAME.

Even in Advance Steel manual there are no information about correlation between HYPERSTEELPAGEFRAME and _AstM5DetSetArranger tool.

If nobody of AS guru will explain it deepier, then it is necessary to test some different set-up's.(if I find a time then will test it on weekend).

There are some  additional questions to _AstM5DetSetArranger tool eg. in Page Size field it is possible to write any sign sequence not correlated to any ISO page sizes (A0, A1 and so on) - what will happen if I write A0+ or A00 etc.

Is it possible to define non standard page size, name it (somewhere - and where?) and use it in _AstM5DetSetArranger tool?

Another sample question is to Restricted Area - sometimes it works but sometimes details are generated in Restricted Area!?
