Hi all .

Can anyone please tell me how to delete the view settings etc that I have created while in the learning process.

In other words a reset.

Thanks in advance

Hopefully you made a backup of the astoraddin database before you started.

that way you will have the original default settings.

otherwise it maybe rather difficult to delete items, because unless you do them in a certain way they will be crossed linked internally

also hopefully you only used copy and not deep copy.

Hi,

so before you do anything, you can look for program data under your computer, if you cannot see this folder then enable hidden files and folders via windows explorer.

the goto program data, then autodesk folder, then look for the advance steel with version number and you can copy the whole of that folder, in that you have every data base.

also there is a folder called advance, copy that.

place those folders else where.

within the advance steel folder there is a number of folders, the one with the astoraddin database , is the one for the user drawing style branch of the drawing style manager,  make use you have a clean copy of the astoraddin.mdf database.

note that you should remove all *.ldf files, they are lock files associated with the main mdf files and not needed.

will try to find post over how to backup you data or move it another machine and post here later.

The ability to reset opens up a whole lot of flexibility in the learning process, I have done 4 courses

on Advance steel, so the basics I have down. It's more the drawing styles and processes that I have been battling with.

The Information you sent me helped a hell of a lot so thanks a ton. I think I finally understand the concept of how it all works, it's a bit like Revit templates but on steroids.

I will succeed thanks to you.

Kindest Regards
