Customizing my BOM by using the formula

Hi all,

I successfully customized the assembly Bill of Materials (BOM) on the drawing to meet my requirements. You can see an example in the attached picture. However, I'm facing a challenge with the external BOM. I've completed most of the customization, but I'm struggling to automatically add 3% to the total weight of the assembly. It seems difficult to implement a formula that multiplies the total weight by 0.03 directly within the BOM. I wonder if there's a way to achieve this automatically, or if the only option is to export the BOM to Excel and perform the calculation there. Any insights or solutions to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

It is not possible directly in Detail area. You need to use such a trick, to get this type of formula (here some example in German version of Advance Steel):

1) hide the new cells with formula under one / more existing cell(s) in BOM here in Detail area 

2) Define the cells with formula:

3) paste the reference (link) in report footer:

Many thanks, bigcarl5000kg, for your response and for providing me with a solution. I have one more question. Is it feasible to place this in the GroupFooter instead of the Report Footer? It's not a major concern, just curious if I can have that 3% increment applied to each individual assembly on the drawing, rather than just the total weight of all assemblies.
