CREATE DOUBLE CHANNEL COLUMN

Hi! i'm modeling an estructure with columns of Double Channel section (toe to toe). I wasn't able to select this section creating it like a column, however i created it like a beam and set "Model role" on "Column". So far everything was ok but when i want to create bracing connections (Gusset plate to column and base plate) all i get is "Canceled operations".
i think it is because the double section doesn´t behave like a column. Is there anyway to insert a COLUMN DOUBLE CHANNEL SECTION?
(I also tried user section but since is not a closed section, that doesn't work well).

Please help 🙂

Hi, If the double channel is a compound section, gusset plate macro will work:

If it is made of steel, I can model it and detail it.

I figured out something. I can do the gusset if the column is rotated. Unfortunely it's not the position that i want. Any thougts?
@acbsdesign it's any particular option to do it? any particular position for the UCS?

The reason is representation-it should be separated:

But i don't want it separated, for this project the column it's one element formed by 2 channels.
Anyway i came to this solution:
If i use "gusset plate to column and base plate", i have to set "Representation" as "Separated".
If i use "gusset plate at one diagonal", i can set my column as "Complete". That's the option that i will use.

None of this it's a perfect solution but at least i can move on on this.
I will kept the post open for the rest of the day to see if any better idea shows up.

Thank you all for your help and sorry for my messy english.
