Clip Elevation drawing

I can't seem to find or figure out how to clip elevation view.

I have a stair case that is 72 feet long and i want to clip it so that it can fit on drawing on a good scale. Is it a DS thing?

Is there a way to do this without rewriting the program? haha.

That view probably isnt going to clip, for the system to clip a view you need a section of the drawing where nothing is happening, so for example between landings, but becuase the handrail is sloping the system wont clip this.

In the elevation below, I have applied clipping in the Y direction but you will see in the before and after that it only clips a tiny part of the drawing, this is because there is too much going on else where

Could you not rotate the view so it fits on the sheet?

Sorry for asking, but how should this be clipped? 
A clipping always need an information like: if there's no attached part -- clip it. Or an object is to long, with not relevant informations--clip it. The problem in your case is the railing: the posts could not be clipped because the rest of the next post is has no "rest length to show".

I would do the following:
Place a camera on each platform with a limited camera view and naming for the height. Place the cameras on one detail and then move them to each other.

I wanted it clipped to show over all dimensions without making it too small.

I understand that there is a lot going on but its just weird to me that i can't clip it.

I ended up just scaling it to where it fit in the page and creating sections with bigger scale to show detail
