I am sloooowly figuring out the many required levels of customizing drawing processes and styles, etc . I am trying to get our custom drawing process to use one of our custom prototypes. I think I found window where to change prototype but there are no choices...any suggestions?

The default folder for prototype is:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Advance Steel 2017\Shared\Support\Prototypes

You should create a new file name selector,  but typically this would be part of a complete drawing process step.

to just change the prototype file in the selector dialog , just copy the actual name of the file from the location it is stored in ( normally the prototype folder inside AS), make sure you add the .dwg on the end.

example:   Mynewprototype.dwg

the system will go automatically to the default prototype location in side AS.

You our only need the file path if you wish it to use another route or location.

Hello,

You should go first here as the previous users told you.

 C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Advance Steel 2017\Shared\Support\Prototypes

Then when you arrive there, You take One .dwg type ( a3,a4 , it depends on the type of drawing do you want to use ) and you modified it with the specifications that you prefer ( Company logos, notes , ETC ).

You can modified the lines and the numbers of the marks and all this type of things doing right click in the "Box" and clicking "Modified Block".

Then you save this new modified .dwg in THE SAME FOLDER (prototypes) with a different name , doing this you will be able to select the drawing that you want.

I hope you get the answered that you need.

Regards.
