Can't draw along axis Y in a Model View

Hello there,

I'm pretty new with Advance Steel, so excuse me in advance for probably the dumb question.

So, I think I understand the Levels and Model Views, I followed a paid course and now here I am with my first project. I created levels, I model in each level - so far so good. Than I started to create Model views, choosing the each axis, in order to model in 2D, because it will be much easier. Unfortunately it's a second day I'm trying to figure out why it doesn't allow me to draw elements along the Y axis, but only along X. Also, it doesn't allow me to start point wherever I want, but it snaps somewhere random. I'm attaching the model. I really hope the problem is some kind of a setting. I tried TO on/off the snaps, polar and the ortho, but still - can't model in the Model view plane.

Not sure I fully understand the issue here, but have you tried rotating the UCS first? For example, rectangles and circles can only be drawn on the X-Y axis.

Another thing to check: maybe you’ve locked the Z axis in the Advance Tool Palette.

Nevermind, it's because you're using model view (something I never do for some reason)

When modeling using model views (and levels), if you want to put a member verticaly, you have to use the column function.

Hi all. Just fyi - I found the solution myself - it turned out that I was thinking all the levels were disabled when I was in the Model view, because all the light bulbs we switched off. But actually the name of the one of the levels was bold texted, although the bulb was off. I deactivated it with mouse right button and afterwards all is working as expected. Basically I had the level activated together with the model view active without knowing (all levels bulbs were off). I hope it would be of help if anyone else struggle with this.
