Camera to GA

Hi

Could someone suggest the best way to get a camera view to a GA, at the moment I just select "Cameras to ANSI-D" then select the drawing to place them then OK, but a lot of the time the are placed on new GA sheets as it says that the views don't fit even when they should.

Now if I pick the cameras and use selected parts to 3d drawing I can select the drawing but just the style is not what I need, not showing hidden lines as its coming through as 3d view obviously, just an example of how they can be used just wondering if there is a work around for getting the cameras to GAs.

That is one of the annoying things about cameras, but it is possible to move views from one drawing to another in the document manager. Open the manager and expand the drawing files, click on the view you want to move and drag and drop it to the drawing you want this on.

Cameras do not play well with drawing styles that require object selection because by their nature they are a snapshot of what is visible through the lens so if something changes the drawing is updated. Any drawing style that uses object selection does not get updated if something is added because it wasn't there when you made your initial selection (if that makes sense).

Further to my previous response check the Drawing Process you want to use, in the User section, and see if the output is set correctly. Refer to first image where it is set to single sheet only.

If it is set to this change it to another setting allowing multiples and hit "Apply". Refer below.

You can also change the scales you want to use use here, set them small so you can fit more to a sheet and you can adjust the scale later on the drawings. When you choose to use cameras in future don't forget to use the User setting in the Drawing Process manager and then choose the profile you modified (hopefully you created a new one).

Thanks for the helpful feedback, yea I probably need to add more scales I think, also if it ends up on an unwanted sheet "copy to clipboard" and then paste to desired sheet works good 95% of time and you keep the original sheet for backup.

Thank you for the link, actually I have watched this about a year ago when I didn't understand enough about AS, it is time to revisit this, thank you again.
