BOM in drawing - part list numbering arrangement

Not applicable

Hi,

Please help me sort the numbering in my part list. I would like that the Bolts will be located in the last rows of my list.  Beams, columns, and plates will be arrange like the following:

b1, b2,b3, b4, c1, c2, c3, c4, p1, p2, p3, p4.

Please see the image attached. You'll see that the arrangement of my parts list was scattered/jumbled.

you had to add the Mainpart Pos Num, to the sortening list and then decide which content is the first to sort by, then the second and so on.
Have a look at the following pic, taken from a structural list:

BOM_Drawing_2.jpg

Baugruppe means lot/phase, Hauptteilnummer: Mainpartnumber, Einzeilteilnummer: Singlepartnumber

So this list is sorted first to the lot/phase property, the next sortening is according to the mainpart and the last ist singlepartnumber.

something's weird. I followed the arrangement correctly but nothing happen. 😞

I don't have the option: Main Part Number

I do have: Main Part name, Assembly Number, Part number.

I tried them all but no success.

@Sebastian_Eiche I made a BOM to be sorted by Commodity number (Item number in BOM) but it only reads the first digit to sort. Is this fixable? Number 2 should be second in the list.

from my point of view: Itemnumber is defined as "text"  (string) in the databases, so if you enter a number in this field, it will be a text for Advance Steel.
And because of this a Sorting will be according to a text sorting and therefore the sorting is correct: 1 -->1(0)-->1(1)--> and so on.
