Bolt identification number

Hello,

we have identification number for every bolt that we use constantly and I show them in BOM list column. I add number to bolt as user attribute after modeling, again in every project.

Is there maybe a way to do it in management tools or anyhow different so numbers would be there in a start?

You can add numbering as part of the standard numbering process, this will group and assign numbers to the bolts used in that current model.

you may have to change the MT settings to enable this.

if you have a standard stock reference number for a bolt type then you could include this in the bolt name, under the bolt editor.   But to do this you should possibly copy the bolt and make it unique to your company, as then if you migrated it should transfer it.

maybe post an example or image of what you do.

Our warehouse has 6 digit identification number for every element, and these numbers are not in oder. For example bolt set M12x35 has ident. 925074, bolt set M12x30 has ident. 534322. I have column in external BOM bolt list for Ident. and add it through user attribute. It works fine, but it is little time consuming to type numbers in user attribute everytime I  create bolt connection.

Hi,

So there is not direct way in the Bolt editor, or the stored parameters,  but something that my help  ,  that is to use the pre-defined fields,  Denotation field in the properties of a bolt.     The user can populate a data table under the management tools.

I have seen this used to create a series of standard internal references that can be aligned with a model element.

this can be accessed via the properties editor, look under notes you can add a reference :

this then adds to the Notes table in the database:

you can add directly in there if you wish,   by using the table editor.

Then in the properties you can set this value.

this then has a token inside the BOMs that can be used  to add to lists.

this way you could build a table based upon your bolt references and add notes to the numbers,   this way you can select and change this field to the defined reference number.    saves you have to type it in each time and makes it easier to use across several systems.
