Batch plot drawing file extension name off?

Is there a setting to batch plot drawing without file extension names? Eg, dwg.
Thanks.

Hi @arkli2009,

I suppose you are using the plotter Autodesk "DWG to PDF.pc3" and you get the filename like "(SP) 1008.dwg-ANSI D Advance Steel.pdf".

The PDF file name is automatically created from DWG file name - including the extension DWG - and "Model" or "layout_name" appended at the end.
There is no option to change this behavior when using "DWG to PDF.pc3" plotter.

What you could do is to rename the PDF files after creation.

You could use a "multi-rename tool" for that, to remove the ".DWG" part from all files at once.

I hope this will help you

Best regards

Emy

I would try the autocad publish opition, set publish to PDF , I set the PDF preset to autocad high quality .

When using this autocad command, there are opition for multi sheet and single sheet, the file name comes out with just PDF on the end of the file name.

The command is "publish", I use that most of the time, just load the detail drawings, save these as publish sheet sets to recall.

Then set the location to be within the project folder structure.

The files create, do not take through the dwg element, as I see the advance steel publish opition does.

Hope that helps.
