Assembly weight vs assembly exact weight.

Good morning,

I have a model I need to get a weight on. I'm getting "The assembly weight is 16457 lb 0.7 oz (16457.0 lb)" AND I also get "the assembly exact weight is 16306 lb 6.7 oz (16306.4 lb)". So there's over 150 lbs difference there on one selection. How is that possible, why is it different, and which weight is accurate? See screenshot

Thanks.

Hi @shane.doyleNLUPQ

The assembly weight is the weight of the raw material, so section length, plates etc. The exact assembly weight is the weight of the material mius the notches, holes etc.

@AleckGiles has written a blog that goes into more depth on the calculations of weight - https://graitec.co.uk/blog/entry/losing-weight-with-advance-steel
