Any suggestions for a valley conection?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a joint that will work in a valley situation? A simple shear plate will suffice. I've tried a few of the obvious but no joy.

try the attached model,   the Fin plate macro/Shear plate ( in some country's)

@johnjmbennett   Thanks John. I reckon that because the geometry in my situation doesn't have the Axis aligned just right the joint can't cope. I see that the simple shear can handle a Valley connection now ... just has to be a little less exotic than what I'm doing. It will get me started though and I can manually hack it about.
