Anchor Names

Does anyone know if you can change the names for anchors for BOMs?

Screenshot 2023-02-16 083248.jpg

If I make the anchor explodable I get the part name I want but also the nut.

Hi @mick-CNF ,

the same rules as for bolt sets - the mapping (AstorCurrentAddIn / MapInternToExtern) works fine only for non-exploded items. For exploded objects (with washer, nut, ...), you will always get the standard name from database.

I recently asked @robertwmerriman2 from Graitec (the original developer until 2016) for an explanation / clarification, unfortunately he never got back to me.

@bigcarl5000kg

This is where the anchor name is coming from but you still cannot get a part token to work. 🤔

without mapping, you can't get another naming, but you know, mapping works limited only 🤔

Mick

Why can't you just put what you want to appear on the BOM list here

I have this in my list and it works ok for me

Hi @dave_conibear

the same as in message no. 4, the database name ... only if you don't use the exploded items in BOM

Hi Karl

Agreed for not using exploded items, but then why would you want to explode it 🙂

A resin anchor always comes with a nut & washer.........not much use without them really..........bit like an

XOX bolt

Any way........it gets what you want on a list, and thats the most important thing........for me anyway.

Hi @dave_conibear,

regardless of whether it is a bolt or an anchor, with such a large number of different suppliers from different countries, which I do not specify, there is no other way. Some standards for fasteners they require certain sets, some do not define them ... the only option is to create a BOM with exploded parts, to define the items unequivocally. If you also use variable parts in the set (as in my industry, different thicknesses of washers, different types of locking washers, ...), you don't (automatically) think of a possible set, it just doesn't exist.

I created, for example, a special part from anchor for our field, even in that case you need exploded items in the BOM.

I would say the opposite, I don't know many users who don't use exploded fasteners in the BOM 😀😀😉😁😁

@bigcarl5000kg

Fair point for the "standard set".........I never really thought of that

Me.............I use nothing but standard sets so to speak

@mick-CNF

Did any of this get you sorted Mick ?

@dave_conibear @bigcarl5000kg

For me bolts will always be exploded to keep lists tidier and shorter.

Non exploded.

Screenshot 2023-02-17 090008.jpg

Exploded.

I didn't know this existed but I like to keep bolt and anchor lists separate so this will work for me.

Hi @bigcarl5000kg

I have asked the question but had nothing back so far

I've tagged Emy Nestor from Autodesk in your other post so hopefully he can shed some light on the question
