Anchor bolts in concrete

Good morning, is there a way to put anchor bolts in concrete? I don't have a baseplate or beam or anything to attach them to. I just need to put some cast in place anchors in a concrete slab. I can use a round bar, but would like it to be an actual anchor rod.

Hi @shane.doyleNLUPQ

I dont think you can associate an anchor directly with the concrete.

I've just turned my machine off for the day so haven't tested this but try the following

1. Model a 1mm plate so the top of the plate is flush with the concrete

2. Set the model role ton"Not visible" so it won't show on GA drawings

3. In the numbering tab click the define as Main part

4. In the behaviour tab untick use for number for assembly and single parts. I think you might have to leave the use for BOM ticked so that the anchors show on the anchor list

5. Untick use for clash check

6. Model the anchors and select the plate when modelling

I think this will allow them to show on an anchor list but hopefully the plate will not, you will need to test

If all else fails se these steps

1. Model a plate, forget about the steps above, 2. add the anchors to the plate

3. Delete the plate and the anchors should still stay there

Not sure it they will show on the BOM because they are not associated with anything

It's what I've done in the past and has worked Ok for me........and you'll get the anchors to show on a material list

you can untick "use for bill of material" for single and main parts and its ok

That must be a new feature in 2021, because it's not available in 2020.

Yes I think it was.

I think it's a feature you didn't know you wanted until you used it.
