Hi Peeps,

I want to add other objects to the database so that they appear in the Objects section of the Ribbon....How is this achieved?

Any help would be appreciated.

What type of objects are you adding?  Are you wanting an actual icon on the ribbon?  You would probably have to make changes using the CUI instead of making database changes.

To add section profiles/ user profiles of beam shapes, there are several methods depending upon what you wish to add.

To add any section ref to ribbon you need to customises the cui, adding in radio button etc to link to the profile reference in question, look at existing to see the setup of this

I've seen varios videos and posts on profiles, but I was thinking of adding say.... post tops for balustrade connection or glass clamps, etc....I can't see how they'd be added as profiles?

More like a bolt really....using a centre point ....and adding the hex head screw as well?

You need to add them as special parts, using a solid acis shape, you insert using the special part command, bacically turns them into block reference inside AS, that you can then assign AS properties too.

You have to do this manually.

Some developers offer additional tools to add these into the system as part of macros etc, for glass panels.

There's a button for Special Parts on the Tool Palette, under the Tools tab.  The icon looks like a clevis.
