2 no. Beams with tubes connected at web with bolt thru not welded

I have two beams with a multiple of tubes connected at the web. On site they will be bolted together thru the tube.

The tube is not welded.

How do I attach/what is the correct way to inc the tubes in my assembly drawing output and the tube quantity showing in the BOM correct for the 5 No. overall assemblies?(The tube is used elsewhere in my model for varying beams zise/similar configurations so i want to inc the quantity per assembly not overall in my model)

Currently if i want something attached in my assembly drawing I just use a weld point 99 percent of the time it is welded but in this instance its not 🙂 and will the .nc file output inc the weld data for the tube when in fact i do not want this.

what is the correct way to attach loose parts as part of an assembly?

Hi,

If you make the bolt location "shop" and include the tubes in the bolt connection then the tubes will be counted in the assembly with the beams.

Thanks for the reply

I can see how to make the bolts location "Shop" but I have set up as holes in the web, not bolts.

I can't get a bolt to go through from one beam web to the beam web of the adjacent beam so I've created holes to center of web on one beam and copied to the adjacent beam and set down slightly, so they align on the opposite beam. (I was not fussed whether it shows bolts or holes at this stage)

How would I include the tubes in the bolt connection (Or holes definition as this is the method I have used) not sure how I can do this?

Do you perhaps have a solution for bolts web to web? (I'm aware of bolts in the negative Z and re-orient the axis etc.. which I tried I just can't get it to meet the other beam web.)
