Submittals - Option to change the Responsible Contractor to a role instead of the single creator

Submittals - Option to change the Responsible Contractor to a role instead of the single creator

When a submittal is created, the creator's name appears under the Responsible Contractor by name and not by role. It would be great to have the option for the role of that person to appear instead.

On our projects, we have several people assigned to a specific role that is responsible for submittals. Therefore, it would assist us if all members assigned to that role could act as the Responsible Contractor on any submittal that is created by someone in that role. This would ensure that the submittal process is not delayed if the member who originally created the submittal is unable to take the required action for any reason.

Agree.  This will improve the submission and revision of Submittals.

Furthermore, it would be great if the creator could actually choose the "Responsible Contractor" to be anyone (any member, any role etc.).  This will allow people to submit something on someone else's behalf, but future changes or revisions to the Submittal should be attended to by the assigned "Responsible Contractor" and not the original creator.

I also agree with this however, I do not feel the "responsible contractor" role should be indicative of said contractor having inherited permissions any where else within the project platform nor explicit ability to redirect the workflow or have access to the review files before the workflow is completed, or the submittal manager has closed the submittal. Currently if a general contractor uploads a submittal for review, they also have the ability to access any files being uploaded or exchanged during the review process. I do feel they should be able to select or add watchers and continue to add comments in the activity log; however I feel it is an unnecessary risk that they're able to access documents within the module when [if] the ball is NOT in their court.
