As a Piping Design Engineer, I need to walk down newly installed piping to verify that everything required for a specific EWO has been addressed. If I have to add a valve, vent, or drain to the P&ID, it would be helpful to have a block that I can easily click and drag onto the sheet. It would also be useful if the system automatically recognized the sheet scale, so I wouldn’t need to manually adjust it. All changes should be made in red, since this function is considered redlining a live document. This is part of the MOC process, so accuracy is important as operators rely on this information daily.
