Project Template Name in Project Settings to be Static

Project Template Name in Project Settings to be Static

When creating a project from a project template, the project template name it was created from is included in the project settings. At the moment, if the project template name changes, its name in the project settings changes as well, I would propose that there should be some indication as to what the project template name originally was, this is because as we update our project templates, we increase the version number in the naming - as the name automatically updates across all the projects historically using that project template, it is difficult to see what version on the template it was made from.

Below shows the current workflow

Create project from template Proj_Temp_v01 called AlphaProject → In the AlphaProject Project Settings, this reads as Project Template: Proj_Temp_v01 → The template needs to be updated to fix an issue, once fixed the template is renamed Proje_Temp_v02 and the changes captured in a changelog →  In the AlphaProject Project Settings, this now reads as Project Template: Proj_Temp_v02

Below would be my proposed workflow

Create project from template Proj_Temp_v01 called AlphaProject → In the AlphaProject Project Settings, this reads as Project Template: Proj_Temp_v01 → The template needs to be updated to fix an issue, once fixed the template is renamed Proje_Temp_v02 and the changes captured in a changelog →  In the AlphaProject Project Settings, this now reads as Project Template: Proj_Temp_v01 [Current template name: Proj_Temp_v02]
