Object Visibility Override

Object Visibility Override

When setting up viewpoints in Navisworks, you can select to "hide/required" saved attributes. When I upload my .nwd to ACC, I can see all the viewpoints I have set up, but it does not remember the "hide/required" saved attributes I have setup for each viewpoint. This is such a useful feature for showing all stakeholders the staging for a project/construction sequencing. Could this feature be included as part of upcoming ACC development?

I'm currently battling with this problem.

My experience is that the Viewpoint will save the visibility of elements at the time it was created. But, if the Hide/Required is unchecked then ACC will not respect this setting.

I am trying to create a few Viewpoints that control visibility and graphic overrides, and other Viewpoints that control location. This approach that works fine in Navisworks doesn't then translate to ACC.

Hey @Chad-Smith

The functionality appears to be working for me in ACC now, perhaps an update has been rolled up.

The workflow that I'm following is to setup all my "saved viewpoints" in Navisworks. For each of these viewpoints, I right-click -> go to edit, then tick both "hide/required" and "override appearance". Then I update each of my viewpoints to show/hide different pieces of equipment.

I have then created a "home view" and follow the same workflow to edit viewpoint settings - tick both "hide/required" and "override appearance".  In this home view, everything I could possibly need for all my viewpoints is showing. It looks a little messy as things may be overlapping but this is my current workflow.

I then save my .nwd on the "home view" viewpoint and upload the .nwd to ACC on this particular viewpoint. This then seems to allow me to click through all my viewpoints in ACC and the difference elements are hiding and showing based on my setup in Navisworks. Make sure to go to the settings in ACC and turn off "ghost hidden objects".

The locations are also changing in each of my viewpoints.

Hopefully this will work for you too!

Thanks for the update.

My problem is almost the same, but in reverse when settings are UnChecked.

Let's say I have three Viewpoints.

  1. Hide/Required and Override Appearance are both Checked. This one shows the Structure and Services.
  2. Hide/Required and Override Appearance are both Checked. This one shows the Architecture and with some element colour overrides.
  3. Hide/Required and Override Appearance are both UnChecked. This one specifically sets a camera position.

Similar to you, the above 1st and 2nd Viewpoints will correctly show the elements and overrides.

But when selecting the 3rd Viewpoint after either the 1st or 2rd, the 3rd Viewpoint will not retain the Hide/Required and will instead show all elements. It does however retain the Override Appearance.

Frustratingly, Navisworks Viewpoints still don't quite work the same way when viewed in ACC.
