Notifications on the web page instead of multiple emails
Instead sending emails, have an option to see all notifications on web. Not like the current My Home with dashboards, but more like a list of up-to-date chronological messages that is relevant to the user.
Not thought about it yet, but it seems like a good idea to me. The complexity of notifications is rather intricate. The current interface is too complex, and the previous interface did not follow the expected programmatic logic (the latest submodule or the least in 'rank' determines the final value -> if excluded at the company and role level but selected at the individual level, the notification is still sent).
We absolutely agree with this and the need for a central notification system within the product which sits above separate modules/projects. A button for this should be located in the top right menu bar. It is confusing for users to say that the only way they can see a proper update is by checking their email, when the whole point of the software is to stop emails being used as much. We are finding that people are not responding or progressing reviews/issues etc because they;
1) didn’t see the email.
2) have so many emails they ignore them
3) haven’t checked the specific module to know there is an update,
A central notification center would allow for hyperlinks to the specific new documents, issues, actions etc within the system, with detail on the item name, what the action is, and the date/time of the notification.
Many other platforms have a built in notification system and it is desperately needed for ACC to ensure users have full awareness of what is happening across their projects.
The notifications should be global for the user, notifying them of realtime updates across all of their projects/modules.
I would like to have a notification center in ACC and push notifications with the APP.
The notification center could be a bell on top in the browser with two colored number indicating notifications for the current project you are in and one for total notifications. Or two bell icons.
And then you could get a daily mail about unseen/unread/unhandled notifications.
Hello ACC team, I suggest 'notifications summary field' on ACC profile or anywhere on project 'Home' page. So when you open ACC, there would be small red number showing total number of unread notifications. We would expand this field into bigger window where we can read all notification like in daily notifications email. There would be link to turn off all notifications or edit frequency of notifications. We could turn off email notifications and receive notifications in this summary only.
Please implement ideas from users faster. Idea ´Notifications on the web page instead of multiple emails´ has 57 votes and 5 comments and you are still discussing will you ever implement this. People do not want useless emails. People do not want emails that nobody reads. I turned off almost all email notifications on my projects already. Make notifications page on ACC where we can read notifications in one window instead of 100 useless emails. Keep flexibility for people to continue receiving emails or opting out as you love emails so much. I guarantee that 5% people will choose emails. Only emails that need to stay are transmittals and correspondence because official project documents are shared with these tools. All other emails need to be turned off.
I can't agree more with previous comments. People don't want emails. They want to see in one place all the necessary notifications when they open an ACC page
