Model Compare // Transform distance filter or heat map

Model Compare // Transform distance filter or heat map

Across the entire platform, the ability to Compare models is largely considered (where I work) a valuable feature.

But when trying to understand 'transformed' changes, the value is not quite as high as what it could possibly be.

A quick background for those who may not be aware. While comparing models, you can select an element to open the Object Change panel, and then at the bottom of the panel is an option to show the element in its previous version location. This way you can see how much and where the element was transformed.

But the downside to this process is that you can only perform it on one element at a time. And you won't know by how much an element was transformed (the distance it moved) without manually checking its versions.

So, to better help identify elements that have moved and by how much, I would like to see both of the following options.

  1. A 'Distance' value/tolerance, similar to what's in the Model Coordination Clashes panel.
  2. Heat mapping the elements to visually show the full range that the elements have been transformed.
  3. Bonus combo option: Filter with a distance first, and then heat map the filtered elements.

In these instances, the model would be better visually displayed to draw the eye's attention to elements that have been modified the most to check if those significant changes have improved the design.
