Misleading "Action Required" Email Notifications for Project Admins - ACC Forms 'Review' Step Notification

Misleading "Action Required" Email Notifications for Project Admins - ACC Forms 'Review' Step Notification

Hi ACC,

Context: I have brought this up to "Contact Support" page last year and the response I got was "this is working as intended".

Current Issue

Project administrators currently receive email notifications with an "Your action is required" heading whenever a form is submitted for review. This is misleading because:

  1. In many cases, no action is actually required from the project admin
  2. The review responsibility belongs specifically to users/roles/companies designated in the "Review" step of the form template

Proposed Solution

I recommend implementing one of the following improvements:

  1. Targeted notifications only: Send "Action Required" emails exclusively to those designated in the Review step configuration
  2. Differentiated notifications: If project admins must be notified, create a separate "For Your Information" email template that clearly indicates no action is needed

This change would significantly improve user experience by reducing confusion and preventing unnecessary actions by project administrators who may believe they need to respond when they don't.

I absolutely 2nd this request.

Since a user must have Project Admin in order to add or remove members there are many users who are forced to have admin level access. If a user does not have edit, approve or watch permissions on a form they should not be receiving an action required email.

This is a waste of our time and resources on the end user side and causes a large level of confusion. It has also resulted in action not being taken on a form when it was needed because the user was receiving so many useless emails they ignored the one they actually needed or turned off notifications on the individual user level.

I too have had issues with this. It has created an overwhelming number of emails received allowing pertinent ones to be missed.

The volume of emails is a nuisance and cause important emails to be overlooked.  Please do something about it.
