Mass Sheet Comparison

Mass Sheet Comparison

Autodesk Build currently does mass sheet number and title recognition upon uploading a new drawing version set. However, the next step I typically need to take is to find what changed compared to the last version set.

The existing sheet comparison tool can only be used one sheet at a time. This is impractical to use to compare a fresh set of hundreds of sheets for changes against the previous set. My current workflow is therefore to export the current and previous set from Autodesk Build for offline comparison in Bluebeam, which will compare entire files.

The ideal process would be for Autodesk to compare the new and previous sets upon upload, and present a view of each changed detail on the next screen following sheet tagging and titling, as well as prepare a spreadsheet list of the affected details. However, it would be a substantial reduction in the work required to compare drawing sets if Autodesk simply allowed me to confirm I want the sets compared, emailed me once the comparison was complete, and allowed me to view or download a comparison set that included only the sheets with changes.

With mass sheet comparison, I would be able to provide more timely change pricing to clients, prevent multiple subcontractors from having to comb through sets for changes, and rely less on non-contractual designer narratives of changes.

Yes, please.  It would be ideal not to have to export to another program. Even if I was able to scroll from one sheet to another, it would be more ideal.

I agree this is a huge need to prevent needing to use Bluebeam for QA. Even an option to select a new version/view/sheet without having to back out of the compare changes dialog would be a great start, but a way to bulk export the change logs would be even better.

Agree this is needed. Jumping in here to hopefully be tagged on the release of this mass comparison module.

Agree. This would be a great feature!
