The behaviour of markups and stamps in ACC Docs - seems to have been recently changed by Autodesk and doesnt make sense now.
For instance, markups and stamps are visible in the web browser view and are only embedded if the pdfs are exported and then outside of the ACC. Markups and stamps that are published are also not visible if the pdfs are transmitted in ACC.
The use of stamps as a way of electronically signing a pdf in a workflow doesnt work. ie. Stamps of documents do not carry through on transmitted documents.
Also, previously markups in superseded versions of the documents were preserved but can now be deleted by the author. This is concerning and fails our requirements to keep a record of markups on reviews as an earlier version of documents in the process of advancing from WIP to Shared.
This forces us to use Desktop Connector and gather comments on pdfs in non ACC platforms such as Bluebeam and save as a new version. This being the only failsafe way to capture reviews for ISO 9001 audit trail.
Suggest that the behaviour of markups and stamps is as follows:
Idea 1) Markups on superseded versions of files can not be deleted for the purposes of leaving an audit trail.
Idea 2) Markups show through onto the next version of file and can be deleted in a current version. Deletion in current version doesnt remove markups in previous versions as per Idea 1.
Idea 3) Stamps do not appear or arent embedded in the pdf files and are not showing up in documents being transmitted. Its not clear the current use of a stamp.
Current workaround is to export pdf and select stamps and bring back into ACC as new version. Ability to do this as part of a workflow would be ideal as a way of visually presenting approved pdfs with an embedded stamp. This is the main aspect missing in ACC.
