Expecting all project members to be known at the start and already exist in the corporate directory is completely unrealistic. In practice, new project members are added over the course of a project, at the project level.
Ideally, when these new members are linked to the correct company (at the project level), that link should be saved to the corporate directory.
It is counterintuitive that if a member’s company-specific email is correctly linked to their company (at the project level), that this information wouldn’t automatically update or save to the corporate directory.
The expectation that someone must first add a member to the corporate directory and then later add them to the project directory, doesn’t align with practical workflows and adds unnecessary steps.
Just some numbers. Out of 4000 members. About 400 are linked to a company inside the corporate directory. 90% Failure.
However, when we look at project directories, we are making these links for the same people every time, multiple times in multiple projects. A huge amount of wasted repetitive work.
