Instead of importing assets on a per-project basis by mapping Revit properties, it should be possible to import them through a predefined Revit schedule, especially when the same asset types are managed across multiple projects. Provided that a category or subcategory & any relevant properties are defined in the Schedule, there appears to be no significant barrier to enabling this functionality. Third party tools have existed for years that allow the export of Revit properties, and the underlying principle in this scenario is no different.
