When creating a submittal, the Responsible Contractor is not able to add Watchers.   On our projects, only senior staff create submittals. These submittals often contain work produced by junior staff. The junior staff cannot be made default watchers as they should not have access to all submittals that are created, as some contain confidential information. Furthermore, we want to avoid the step where the Submittal Manager has to add Watchers to each submittal as this creates unnecessary admin.   It would be helpful if the Responsible Contractor could add Watchers. This would streamline the process for the Submittal Manager. When exporting a PDF Submittal Detail Report there is an option to embed attached files, but not referenced files.  Manually inserting the referenced files to the exported report later is tedious and inefficient.  The RFI tool allows referenced files to be embedded.  Please can this functionality be provided in the Submittal tool as well?   Furthermore, it would also be helpful if there was an option to include markups on the embedded references because there are often important markups made on files referenced as part of RFIs and Submittals.  Our current workaround is to export the file with markups from the Files tool and manually insert it in the exported PDF RFI/Submittal Detail Report.  This is also tedious and inefficient.  Please can there be an option to include markups? We’ve recently noticed a change in the “Your Assigned Work” button on the home page. Previously, this quick link worked exactly as intended, showing only open submittals that required action. Now, however, it’s also displaying closed submittals, which creates unnecessary clutter and confusion — for example, my home page currently shows 9 submittals under “Your Assigned Work,” but non of them are actually open. In some of our projects, team members are seeing 50+ items under "your assigned work" when only 2–3 are truly active. This change makes it harder to quickly identify and address real tasks, slows workflows, and reduces the feature’s usefulness. Restoring the original functionality — excluding closed submittals — would return this tool to its intended purpose and greatly improve efficiency for teams managing large volumes of work. Show More

It would be advantageous to enable seamless integration between project specifications and their corresponding Autodesk Build submittal spec sections and Autodesk Takeoff classification systems. Furthermore, direct integration with widely used specification subscription services would ensure that accurate information is automatically linked to the specifications, submittal sections & classification types, reducing reliance on manual data entry or Excel imports and streamlining the management of specification updates. Currently, Contractors are unable to create or send submittals to Consultants for review using the mobile app, which limits their ability to manage submittals efficiently while in the field. Several Contractors have requested this functionality to streamline workflows and reduce delays when away from a desktop. It would be highly beneficial to enable mobile support for creating submittal items and submitting them to the Consultant, allowing Contractors to initiate, populate, and send submittals directly from their mobile devices. A rejected submittal should trigger the creation of a new submission round without the intervention of the submittal manager and the responsible contactor should be directly required in the specific submittal to submit the new revision documents. At the moment, the field Responsible Contractor in a Submittal contains the Contractor Name and the company in brackets. When creating an Excel Report only the Responsible Contractor name is preserved, there is no column for the Company. The Column for company should be added.  Show More

While working on the Master Delivery List of Documents using the Submittals module in ACC, we have encountered several limitations that restrict us from fully recommending it to our users. Currently, the submittal review process lacks flexibility and advanced features that are critical for smooth document management and real-world workflows. Current Challenges: Limited Review Actions: Reviewers cannot send the document back to the initiator for corrections. No ability to perform multiple follow-up actions once a file is approved (e.g., move files to a target folder, trigger attribute updates, add workflow notes). No setting to automatically include all published markups on approved files. Folder & Repository Integration: No option to enforce that documents be uploaded into designated folders before initiating a submittal review. Lack of flexibility for initiators to select/change the target folder for approved files. Need to sync submittal document numbers with the system document repository for consistency. Workflow Automation Limitations: No automation to trigger certain actions when all files in a submittal are approved (e.g., send to a final folder, update attributes, notify stakeholders). Missing capability to link submittals with existing file review workflows, which offer better markup and attribute handling. Use Case & Importance: Our client teams expect a central document repository where all documents — including those submitted through the Submittals process — follow consistent naming, numbering, and folder structures. For example: A submittal for “Structural Drawings – Week 32” may contain multiple documents. Once approved, these should automatically be moved to the designated “Approved Structural Drawings” folder, with updated attributes and markups intact. Initiators should be able to set or update the target folder, ensuring approved documents are accessible in the correct location without manual intervention. A dashboard showing upcoming submittals (weekly/monthly) alongside their review status is highly valuable for project tracking. Proposed Enhancement: We recommend integrating and syncing the capabilities of File Reviews and Submittals so that: All file review capabilities (markups, workflow notes, attribute updates, actions upon approval) are available in Submittals. Submittals can be linked directly to the central folder structure, ensuring traceability and easy retrieval. Automation and flexibility are introduced to reduce manual handling and improve adoption. This enhancement will not only streamline document management but also make Submittals a truly comprehensive tool for Master Delivery Lists and project documentation workflows. Show More

When a submittal is created, the creator's name appears under the Responsible Contractor by name and not by role. It would be great to have the option for the role of that person to appear instead.   On our projects, we have several people assigned to a specific role that is responsible for submittals. Therefore, it would assist us if all members assigned to that role could act as the Responsible Contractor on any submittal that is created by someone in that role. This would ensure that the submittal process is not delayed if the member who originally created the submittal is unable to take the required action for any reason. Show More

We need an option to toggle on an automated (scheduled) email reminder for items in the different modules at different time frames. F   For example, as a Document Controller, you need to automatically trigger an email to an Engineer when an RFI response or Submittal review is due within 5 days, another when it is due in 3 days, and then daily once it is overdue.   Many users would benefit from an email to prompt them to take action. This is helpful in the interim until users are accustomed to working directly out of the ACC and relying on each modules home page to see where items are in their status. Show More

External users should not be able to create or add new submittals directly within the Owner or GC’s submittal registry. To maintain data integrity, contractual flow, and proper review processes, only GCs or Owners should log official submittals. External users can submit documents for review, but creation rights should be restricted. Show More

Certain tools in ACC Build including ISSUES and RFIs allow for comments to be included when exporting the item. When an ISSUE or RFI is exported, there is the option to include comments by means of a slider bar.   It would be useful to have the option to include comments when exporting submittals. This would assist us as the comments made on submittals are important and should be documented for future reference. Show More
