I am a Precon manager for a general contractor and would like to know why I can not respond directly to the person via email when they submit their proposal via building connected. Since they submitted thru building connected, I receive the email notification as shown below and to avoid more button click and having to go to BC and create a new message, I want to be able to quickly respond to this email below and acknowledge that I have received it and maybe ask them a couple quick questions.     I do not want to have to go to building connected and send them a direct message since the message is not tied to their submission, I want to be able to reply directly to the submission. I wouldn’t mind doing this if I can click on the notification when they submitted and directly respond to that but it does not allow me too. I want to be able to click this button and have it potentially open a message box to allow me to respond and say thank you.       Show More

Hello, I would like to request Autodesk to bring back a long standing feature of BuildingConnected which supported deleting bid packages / bidders after publishing the package. In a small construction business like ours, we occasionally need to revise our scope of work. This can involve removing a bid package or a bidder entirely. Autodesk customer support suggested, we could technically create a new project and close the existing one to achieve the same outcome; however, this approach would result in unnecessary redundancy within ACC’s data storage systems, wasted man hours on our end, and added confusion for the bidders. Right now the only way to view a subcontractor bid is to download it and open it offline.  This seems like a strange thing to be missing from an online bidding platform.  Can you have bids open in a separate PDF reader window please?  That way we can look at the bids without having to download and save all of them, which was supposed to be one of the benefits of Building Connected. In BuildingConnected platform, currently, when a subcontractor or a vender receives a bid invite from a General Contractor, they can only see the bid package name. It will be beneficial for them to see the bid package number as well, since this number option could be used to directly refer to the Specification division number for the relevant bid package from the tender documents. That way, the subcontractors/venders can be easily directed for the correct specification division. Show More

We’re encountering a workflow limitation in BuildingConnected where users are restricted to accessing only one company per email account. This constraint is especially challenging in environments where employees need to interact with multiple BuildingConnected spaces for proposal uploads and project collaboration. Because BuildingConnected is tied to Autodesk SSO, we’ve had to implement workarounds that introduce operational inefficiencies and potential security concerns. These include: Creating separate user accounts with unique emails, requiring private browser sessions to avoid credential conflicts. Using shared accounts with complex passwords and device-specific passkeys, which adds friction and increases administrative overhead. Assigning departmental champions to manage uploads, which centralizes responsibility but reduces agility and scalability. We’re currently using the shared account workaround, but it’s not ideal long-term. A native solution that allows a single user to securely access multiple BuildingConnected companies would significantly improve usability, reduce risk, and align better with enterprise identity management practices. When setting up the subcontractor Bid Form that feeds into Bid Leveling, there are the Line Items, Alternates and Inclusions fields, per snip 1 below.  This then feeds into the Bid Leveling tab, so that when a sub submits their proposal they fill out the bid form, which then shows up on bid leveling.        Often times there are scopes of work that need to be broken apart that are apart of one major scope.  The only option to do this and enable the ability to toggle each line item cost on/off is for subs to fill in the Alternates section even though they are not actually alternates and a part of the base scope.  The work around has been to direct subs to fill in $0 in the Line Items section and fill in the alternates.  See snip 2 below.    Additionally, if there is a sub that only prices a portion of the scope of work, there is no way to add Line Items or Other Costs and be able to toggle costs on and off in order to create a combo where we use multiple different subs for a more competitive scope of work.  Also the only field where items can be added for leveling purposes without subs seeing the line items and causing further confusion, is the Other Costs section but without the ability to toggle costs on and off it cannot be utilized effectively.   In order to work around this a GC must add themselves to the bid package and submit a dummy proposal to be able to add line items that can be toggled (Additional Items: ) per snip 3 below.    It would be much more efficient to add Other Costs and be able to toggle the costs on and off.   When breaking apart supply vs. install scopes that are a part of the same major scope where there are multiple line items within each scope that need to be listed and then separated, the only way to effectively do this is in the alternates section or for a GC to add themselves to the bid package and submit a dummy proposal.       By adding the ability to toggle the Line items and Other costs sections, would enable full leveling and combo capabilities without time consuming and confusing work arounds.   See snip 4 below of an example of how messy the leveling can get without the ability to toggle items on and off in the Line items and Other costs sections to be able to consolidate sub costs/additional items to make for a more concise summary of costs and scope, while still maintaining the ability to break apart scopes/costs.    Please, please, please add toggles to the Line Items and Other Costs sections within the Bid Leveling tab like the Alternates section.      Snip 1:     Snip 2:     Snip 3:     Snip 4:         Show More

  There are times when a package gets published under someone’s name who’s no longer with the company, or the company itself has been subsumed by another company. Without the ability to edit or remove those packages, folders can get messy fast. It would be incredibly helpful if we had the option to take ownership of a package by being able to delete or edit companies without Autodesk intervention.  Another issue that could be solved with the same is duplicate company folders. The same company shows up multiple times just because of a misplaced comma or period. It splits up contacts and makes it harder to get a clear picture of who’s who. If we could merge those entries ourselves (without needing approval from the company), it would make a huge difference in keeping things streamlined. Overall, having more control to edit, delete, or merge packages and company folders would make the whole experience smoother, more efficient, and a lot less confusing. Show More

Owners often want ot encourage use of subcontractors local to the project site.  it would be nice to be able to show a graph of subs within X miles. Show More

We'd like to have the ability to add subcontractor proposals to bid packages without the system automatically generating a new ITB email to the sub. My company will occasionally invite subcontractors to one bid package, and they end up bidding more than one. To accurately track received proposals for reports, we then have to add the sub to the all additional bid packages and manually upload their proposal to each one. When we do this, they receive a new ITB email for each package and question why they are receiving the ITB when they've already submitted a proposal. We are experiencing the same issue with projects that we designate as "discoverable in the project plan room" and receiving proposals from subs who were not originally invited.     It would be helpful to have an additional option to simply upload a received proposal without generating a new ITB. Or to be able to add the subcontractor to a bid package and be prompted by the system to choose whether or not we want to send an ITB to them or upload a document/notes.     Show More

First, Building Connect is great and serves our company well.  One thing we see that would be a massive benefit, is to have an integration with a company like DocuSign.  Several of our customers require a wet signature NDA or Docusign.  We would love a way to make this mandatory before the can view the project.  I know you currently off an option where they do a check box and accept the NDA but that is sufficient for our clients.  After doing this, we then have to email them separately to get a wet signature or Docusign.  Thank you for this consideration and interested to hear your feedback. Is there any way that a common location or inbox can be added so that all previously received notifications and messages can be viewed at any time?  Currently, when a User views a notification by clicking on the icon on the top right and mark it as "Read", there is no way to access that message again without going into the particular project to which the message was associated.  If a User has many projects for which they are simultaneously responsible, it can be a cumbersome task to go through each project individually to search for the message that the User just marked as "Read". It would be nice to be able to set up automatic reminder emails in the system to automatically remind people of approaching bid date, or to replay to an invite and then also that their bid is due or past due please submit. This was something we were able to do in Procore and would be a nice feature in Building Connected Show More

Adding Insurance limits data to the displayable column data within the TradeTapp main page.  This would allow for filtering or organizing based on underlying insurance limits.  As we currently only have access to expiration dates, adding insurance limits would provide a more complete picture.  In conjunction with having Bidder List templates be available in TradeTapp, projects can have greater access and insight to important vendor data. Is there any way that a modification can be made to allow Companies to change their logo based on office location?  Currently, one logo appears on all bid invitations.  However, with some GCs, the logo can vary by region.  Thanks! Show More

When we invite bidders to a bid package in BuildingConnected when we have the project set to "I want this project to be invite only.", we invite one to a few people from a company, and we've had those few people try to invite others from their company to the package. This causes that new person to not be able to see the package until we remove them and reinvite them ourselves. It would be very helpful to have those that are invited have the ability to add others from their company. I could see it being another option within the "Discoverable" in project information. Is it possible to move the "Discoverable" status option down a level in order to be able to apply the setting on a per Bid Package basis?  There are instances where a GC will have a list of known bidders to invite for certain trades but would like to accept bids from anyone for other trades.
