I have an internal system to score the technical aspect, as it is a quantitative measure for a qualitative proponent. Current BuildingConnected (BC) Functionality: Each BC, BidBoard (BB) Company must be a separate entity. Domain name and email addresses cannot be duplicated between companies. This functionality keeps each company secure and protects their Intellectual Property. Opportunity for New Functionality Example:  Situation: Company A has a paper subsidiary or paper sister company, Company B. Company B exists in name only for accounting structure purposes. Company B has no employees. Company A is set-up in BuildingConnected, can be pre-qualified by General Contractors (GC) in TradeTapp (TT), and receive bid requests in BB. Company A's sales department can review and act on these within BuildingConnected. Company A wants to set-up Company B in BC-BB to be pre-qualified by GC's in TT and receive bid from GC's in BB. Company A employees need to see all of the information for both Company A and Company B. Difficulty: Company A employees cannot do this with the same email addresses. Company A must create a new domain, new infrastructure, duplicate BC-BB Offices, new emails, etc. for the same employees. When Company A employees want to review pre-qual. and bid requests in BC-BB/TT for Company B , they must logout of Company A and use their Company B credentials to log-in to BC-BB/TT. This duplication of infrastructure is not only cost prohibitive but is also inefficient for employees as they have to merge both data sets into a single set of orders for Manufacturing. New Functionality Idea: Allow companies to set-up another affiliated BC company with the same BC Office structure and employees as their original company. Allow company employees to review all TT pre-qual. requests and BB bid requests from both companies in the same BC queues. Show More

The current framework of the BuildingConnected site does not differentiate any permissions levels between users, which gives any single member of a company profile free reign to make changes to office locations, services offered, etc. Putting it bluntly, this creates an unmanaged and disorganized free-for-all.   In the specific case of my company, we maintain separate company profiles for our various regional brand identities. Without any restriction on editing permissions, users have created duplicate/overlapping offices and service areas between company profiles that create confusion for our end customers/GCs. Show More

After creating all my bid packages as the GC, I often find that the a contractor will be attached to multiple bid packages. When I create a note for that contractor it updates on all bid packages they are connected to, but when I change the status to bidding or not bidding, it only changes the status on that one bid package. Which means I have to go through multiple trades in order to make sure that single contractor connected to multiple bid packages is marked as not bidding or bidding across the board.   Contractors will often times state they are bidding one package and not another, so a setting giving the GC the option to allow bidding status' to update through all bid packages would allow ease of use for GC in both situations. Only Bid Admins are able to unseal bids.  BuildingConnected requires the existing Bid Admin to appoint a new Bid Admin.  BC Customer Support does not have the ability to change Bid Admin.    Our Bid Admin was out of the office during a scheduled bid opening.  Our team was forced to push the bid opening for lack of ability to update Bid Admin and unseal bids.  Our team recommends Autodesk/ACC/BuildingConnected add ability for team members to change Bid Admin.  Show More

When submitting a new approval, the submitter can type anything into the Project Name. The different variations on project names will lead to a highly unorganized RMP Tracking system. Would a drop down menu be possible? I know this would take some legwork internally. Adding a project number field could also fix this issue. Show More

The Bid Leveling tool currently does not have any way to assign a "review" status to bids that are submitted.  In other words, if a vendor submits a bid there is no way to tell if someone on our team has actually reviewed that bid without running some kind of external tracking sheet.  This status tracking is an important part of the bid management workflow and would ideally be handled within BC.  This could be accomplished within Building Connected with adding these status options to the drop down menu next to each bidder's company name in the bid leveling tab: Bid Submitted - Not Reviewed (this would be the default status when a bid is submitted) Bid Submitted - Leveling In Progress Bid Submitted - Leveling Complete Additionally, adding the stats for each of the bid review statuses above to the bid packages summary page (next to the number of bids submitted for each package) would be a great feature. We would like to see an exportable report that includes a list of all bids submitted on a project with the leveled / "with plugs" bid amount shown.  Currently we can only get a list showing all of the leveled "soft-awarded" bids but not the rest of the bids received.  There is an also a way to export a list showing all bidders but it only shows the initially submitted bid amount and not the leveled bid amount. I want to be able to select the color associated with my profile. We use Building Connected to our office, and the bid board calendar shows your color in a small rectangle on any upcoming bid entries you're assigned to with your initials inside the rectangle. See below, we have quite a few people using this and our estimating assistant would benefit from the change. I am a Precon manager for a general contractor and would like to know why I can not respond directly to the person via email when they submit their proposal via building connected. Since they submitted thru building connected, I receive the email notification as shown below and to avoid more button click and having to go to BC and create a new message, I want to be able to quickly respond to this email below and acknowledge that I have received it and maybe ask them a couple quick questions.     I do not want to have to go to building connected and send them a direct message since the message is not tied to their submission, I want to be able to reply directly to the submission. I wouldn’t mind doing this if I can click on the notification when they submitted and directly respond to that but it does not allow me too. I want to be able to click this button and have it potentially open a message box to allow me to respond and say thank you.       Show More

It would be great to be able to easily change the file name of the proposals that the subcontractor attaches to a bid.  Often times we have our own file naming conventions for subcontractors.  And we often have several proposal revisions.  I'd like to be able to easily change the name of the file, add dates, revisions, drawing sets, etc.   Right now, I see the only way to do this is download the file, change the name and then upload again manually.
