In BuildingConnected's "Bid Leveling" you can toggle most times on or off to include them in the leveled price or not. But, you cannot toggle items in the "Other Costs" section. Ideally you could toggle "Other Costs" items also. Show More

Request for a new report, Project Audit Report, which would show an audit trail of all internal employee's actions on a project from its creation to current. This would include a date and time stamp with employee identifier if/when a bid package is added, if a project information is updated, if the project due date is changed, etc. Ability to generate this report with filterable data would be a plus, but not required as long as the information is available to be extracted into an excel format.  Show More

Please add a setting to where I CANNOT accidentally click publish for a bid package before I'm ready to in BuildingConnected. 'Publish' is the same color as the 'Add Bidders' and it's just WAY TOO easy to accidentally click publish before you're ready. I’d like to suggest an improvement to BuildingConnected that would enhance the accuracy of trade classifications and, in turn, improve search rankings and bid relevance for specialized contractors. Currently, our company—which specializes in commercial coffee and espresso equipment—is limited to selecting between “Appliances” and “Food Service Equipment.” These categories are too broad and group together a wide range of unrelated equipment types. As a result, it becomes difficult for businesses like ours to be accurately represented or discovered for relevant bids. Suggested Improvement: Please consider adding more granular subcategories within “Food Service Equipment” or introducing a new category such as “Coffee & Espresso Equipment” or “Specialty Beverage Equipment.” This would better reflect the specific scope of work we perform and allow for more accurate search filtering and bid targeting. Accurate trade classification is essential for both contractors and GCs to connect effectively, and this update would be a meaningful improvement for companies in niche segments like ours. If a project was published and a NDA was issued, there is no way of updating the NDA in the event that the NDA is changed or modified. This would be easy to re-issue and when the trade contractors log-in after the new NDA is published, they would need to re-acknowledge the new NDA. Show More

In BuildingConnected after you create a project and create a bid package you then can click the tab BIDDERs and start adding bidders by selecting ADD BIDDERs. When in this area you have the option to search by if the Trade is “willing to travel to” you would change the address to the location the company would be willing to travel to and then you can slide the slider bar at the top of the screen and it will select 1 or more companies based on your settings you select based on their best match's to the filters you have selected and you can add them to your project very quickly. However, when you are in search by office location, this slider bar isn’t present. It would be beneficial to have this feature, like "willing to travel" has - the slide bar.  Show More

Note: this idea was originally submitted to Autodesk on August 29th, 2024, and on December 11, 2024, it was noted that Autodesk submitted this as a feature request on customer behalf because they didnt have a way for customers to submit ideas or feature requests. Now that this Idea's portal was released, we wanted to be sure this idea was captured and still being reviewed.    In BuildingConnected, you can add an estimated cost prior to bid date but this estimate is a lump sum (individual number) and there isn't a place to add additional items such as alternates, etc. Even after bid date, on the Clark estimate column there isn't an option to add an expanded estimate.    It would be helpful to have a location where we could enter not only our estimated cost of the bid but include our alternate costs and then once bids start to come in, they flow over to the bid leveling tab like the estimated cost.   We did see the "How to add your own budget to compare in Bid Leveling – BuildingConnected (us)". However, when we used this option and you print reports, it then shows the Estimate as a BID, if we are low, its lists as the apparent low, which is inaccurate since this is only an internal estimate.   We are looking for an area, like estimates, to list other items such as alternate without complete the FULL (there are several items on the bid form to complete and its time consuming to have to complete this on every project) bid/proposal for our own company.  This also poses an issue on SEALED bids. On Sealed bids, you are not able to enter in items on bid leveling, like your own proposal (or what we would like to enter as estimate) prior to the bid opening.   The goal is to have a location where we can enter in our estimate prior to the bid date. This ensures after bid opening or bid due date we can immediately review and see where everyone stands against our original estimate. There is a location in the project to enter the project estimate and there is a location in each bid package where you can add the bid package estimate, but we are unable to find a way to accomplish entering in a full estimate of each bid package (bid category) include any estimates for alternates prior to the bid due date.   Show More

It would be great to be able to search project-wide in Building Connected for a specific person's name, phone #, etc. I will often remember a person's name but not the company they work for, or I would like to search the project for an unknown phone # I have a missed call from.   Other benefits would be being able to pull up a specific person's message and/or document download history, etc. Especially on the fly while on the phone with somebody or in the middle of a meeting.   The "search" and "find" tools do not currently offer this functionality from what I could tell.   - Cole with Mortenson Construction Show More

There is no way to print the "Messages" being sent and received as a report on Building Connected. This report is critical when we try to present the communications that have taken place in a neat and organized fashion.  Would be great if the messages can also be added to the reports section. Current there is no way for the estimating team to know when more quotes have been entered into any of the bid packages unless we go into each bid package.  On bid day it is pretty crazy so communication between estimators is key:  If I add a quote in If the subcontractor uploads a quote If I put in revisions We would love to be able to communicate with each other within the system Show More

In the bidder list window, when creating a contract, there needs to be functionality that allows users to add the vendor company and contacts to ACC (Build/Cost), from the create contract window. Right now, the vendor must be added to the project first and then it can be assigned from BCPro.  Show More

It would be helpful to update and expand keywords in the Building Connected Bid Package Information to the current 50 division MasterFormat. This would help us to connect with trade partners who actually perform the scope of work we need.     Show More

We can only export a bidders list that's organized by division and then alphabetized by company name. It would be nice if we could export a bidders list that is formatted strictly by company name having a separate column that lists the division name/number. Show More

If a bidder wants to send bid documents to a third-party printer, currently they need to download the documents and send them to the printer using some other method - usually a FTP site, because the documents are too large for email. Ideally they could share a link with their printing company without having to go through this step. Show More

When doing public bidding sometimes we need physical sealed envelopes with bids and forms. Having the "Bid Forms" tab available is confusing for the bidders. There should be an option to disable the tab.  Show More

When reviewing a subcontractor’s history on a project, it's helpful that we can see if they’ve viewed the invite, downloaded files, and interacted with the bid package. However, one key element is missing: the ability to see messages that have been sent to the bidder.   It would be extremely useful to have all communications linked directly to the bidder’s activity log, so we can easily reference what information was shared, when, and by whom. This would improve transparency, reduce duplicate outreach, and help track engagement more effectively. Show More

I have found that a subcontractor can include in their work preformed ASPHALT.  But when trying to setup a bid package for asphalt, it is not possible to include the word asphalt in the keywords for the bid package.  If a type of work can be included in the work preformed section of the company description, you should be able to choose that same type of work in the keyword section of a bid package setup.
