We would like to propose enabling the “Extract Pages and Attributes” function within the Holding Area (WIP) environment.
Currently, if unique attributes (such as File Description) are not manually extracted before workflow initiation, files may be rejected due to missing mandatory metadata. This creates unnecessary manual intervention when releasing files from WIP to Shared.
Automating or enabling attribute extraction in the Holding Area would:
Ensure metadata is populated upon upload, such as is the case for file description for drawings.
Prevent workflow rejection due to missing File Description
Reduce manual processing
Improve reliability of metadata-dependent workflows
This would strengthen governance while improving workflow efficiency.
