Filtering Issues & Searching for Issues

Filtering Issues & Searching for Issues

While I enjoy the filtering tool, there are times when I need to search for an issue.  Sometimes that issue cannot be shown because of the selected filters.  I would like to see the search tool override (temporarily) the filter tool to show me the issue I am looking for WITHOUT resetting the filters.  If I search for an issue by number, it is a temporary thing.  Once I am completed with looking at that issue, I would like to return to my filtered issues without having to recreate the filter selection.

Hi @TheChadHolbrook , thank you for posting your idea! To proceed we need a bit more clarity on which product you are referring to? Then I may route your feedback to the correct team.

Cheers,

Hi @andriana.gutierrez In ACC and Navisworks through the Navisworks Issues Add-In, when you have issues open in Model Coordination and you set some filters, then do a search for an issue that may come up in a discussion, if that issue, say 510, is not in one of the set filters, the search tool does not find it.  It would be a big time saver if the search tool "ignored" the filters and found the issue you were searching for.

For example, during coordination meetings, I setup my filters so I only see a certain group.  Normally, I will turn on the normal categories I use for my issue review (Open, In Review, etc.), but turn off those I don't want to see to clean up my meeting (Closed).  If that Issue 510 happens to be Closed but someone has a question about it, it doesn't show up in my list of Issues now that I set those filters, and the search tool does not find it because it is turned off through the filter tool.

If I want to see that issue, I have to reset my filters and look at it, then when we are done reviewing it, I need to go and setup my filters again.  I would think the filters and search tools would be independent, but the search tool relies on the filter tool to search for the results.

I'd be more than happy to show someone on the development team what I see.

Great context, thank you @TheChadHolbrook! This thread will be moved to the ACC ideas board, where we can connect you with the teams who work on ACC and related add-ons.
