Files (Docs) // Support for 360 Photo viewing

Files (Docs) // Support for 360 Photo viewing

This is an ACC-specific request off the back of a similar and somewhat popular BIM 360 request.

360 degree Photo Viewer - Autodesk Community

The Photos gallery in Build currently has 360 photo viewing support. This is great, but also very limiting.

Files in Docs currently does not support 360 photo viewing. This causes many problems and data bottlenecks, especially when mentioned in the same sentence as ACC Apps and other ACC activities.

ACC has numerous 3rd party Apps that captures 360 photos for progress reporting. Many of those external platforms have APIs through which files can be transferred into ACC Files. And many ACC activities, such as Issues and Forms, can Reference documents in Files.

But even though we can externally capture 360 photos, transfer them via an API to ACC Files, and then attach them to an activity, this is somewhat pointless if ACC cannot display the photo to the user as a 360 photo.

Unless ACC is heading down the development path of integrating 360 cameras directly into the ACC mobile app that works with Build Photos, then alternative native support is a must. This lack of functionality is hurting progress and quality reporting.

This doesn't even feel like a big ask.

Build Photos uses the Open Source Pannellum viewer. Surely this is a simple case of adding this as a new file viewer type in Files, much like a JPG image or PDF? A junior engineer could possibly implement this.

Can this please finally be implemented.

I really like 360 photos—they provide more information than standard frame photos, offering unlimited transparency. However, ACC Build Photo limits uploads to 20MB, which is quite restrictive.

I capture 360 photos using drones, where multiple images are stitched into a high-resolution 360° sphere image, often exceeding 20MB in size. This limitation makes it difficult to fully utilize 360° imagery for progress tracking and reporting.

I was excited with the viewing capability earlier, and have gone in and uploaded a 360 photo, and nope still couldn't recognise it. The Photo module has some great potential but very limited functionality atm, almost useless. Would also be nice just to be able to manually punch in the GPS coordinates

In addition to my above idea request, the Photos API needs an endpoint to POST Uploads.
