Description:
In Navisworks 2026, the Issues panel is disabled if a project includes any appended local files, even when some of the loaded models are fully synced with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). The only current workaround is to open a single published NWD file from ACC, which is not practical for certain workflows.
Problem:
When reviewing point clouds against model data, we often need to load:
ACC-synced design models (Revit, DWG, etc.)
Local point cloud files (RCP/RCS or other formats)
This mixed setup is essential for comparing field conditions to design intent, especially when point clouds are too large or impractical to store in ACC.
Currently, appending even one local file disables the ability to create or manage Issues in Navisworks, blocking collaboration and review workflows.
Proposed Solution:
Allow Issues to remain enabled in mixed local/cloud situations, with the following safeguard:
An Issue can only be created if the selected object is from an ACC-synced model.
Local files would be view-only in the Issues context, without issue creation or object linking.
Benefits:
Maintains ability to track design issues in ACC without forcing all files to be cloud-hosted.
Supports point cloud + model review workflows common in construction QA/QC.
Improves flexibility for large datasets or partial cloud adoption.
