Design Collaborate // Timeline // Improve the 'Multiple Nodes' Representation

This idea is to improve the DC Timeline 'Multiple Node' representation to make it more informative so the user can decide whether to zoom/expand a node grouping.

The focus of this idea is specifically on the last node. Looking at the below screenshot, it is unclear whether there are nodes that require review and consuming?

Let me explain.

A grouping of multiple nodes can be one of four combinations.

  1. ChadSmith_1-1709157371473.png All nodes are not consumed.
  2. ChadSmith_2-1709157410861.png All nodes are consumed.
  3. ChadSmith_3-1709157453556.png A combination, which may include multiple nodes from individual teams, and where the latest from each team has been consumed. This could look like the below image, where no action is required.

  4. ChadSmith_4-1709157466517.png A combination, which may include multiple nodes from individual teams, and where the latest from each team has not been consumed. This could look like the below image, where action is required.

In the above list, options 1 and 2 are not an issue as they are clear whether action may be required. It's options 3 and 4 that are not clear. As a DC Team manager, having options 3 and 4 that use the same icon doesn't help.

This idea is to amend the node icon for the above option 3, so that it shows mirrored. i.e. the shading on the right side of the circle. This would better reflect what would be shown in the timeline when zooming into the grouping.
