Currently, the various status options for PCO and SCO are set and can't be changed. It would be helpful to have the option to set which status a PCO or SCO automatically starts at. For instance, a PCO defaults to "Draft" however a PCO in draft status does not report any of its values on the budget columns. The PCO status has to be set to "Open" for it to be reflected on the budget columns. Similarly, a SCO that is in "Draft" or "Open" status doesn't appear in the budget columns either. A SCO has to have a status of "Sent".
These default statuses create the possibility of not reporting correctly the overall health of the project on the budget screen. All it takes is the user to forget to change the status. The project teams should have the option to select what status they want change orders items to start at. This could just be another setting under Cost Management....Settings...Change Order and applied to project template if the company as whole wanted to adopt a standard.
