Custom Stamps / Symbols for Commenting PID

Custom Stamps / Symbols for Commenting PID

Hi ACC group,

I'd like to bring up an Idea for your consideration.
In our current method of PID Drawing Review workflow, we do red-line mark-up on PDF and have a 'library' of custom stamps that are in shape of PID Symbols, primarily to show the drafting team what are the required.. this is beneficial for us as we do not need to scribble/draw all the time, the comments looks more neat and organized.
what I'm suggesting is the same concept of custom symbols / stamps freely customizable in ACC, instead of a fixed geometry stamps, that is pick and place on the mark-up.
I've attached a snapshot to give elaborate more on the desired outcome.

hoping for a positive response and consideration.

Thanks and Regards,

Ric

We would like to request similar functionality to allow the users to customize a tool box to help them quickly mark up files.  We like that ACC has a mark up tool, and allows real time markups and sharing among the people in the ACC Projects.  We do not like that the ACC markup functionality feels like a step backward to what we currently have available in other tools such as the BlueBeam PDF markup tool.  This lack of customizable markup toolsets is hindering our ability to move completely into the ACC environment for full project drawing and deliverable management.

I just wanted to back this request as well.

We need more stamp icons in our markup's toolset.   Similar to Bluebeam Custom Libraries.   Bluebeam Custom Library.   It doesn't need to be so comprehensive, but to be able to import a few icons for the teams to use as stamps would be truly game changing in the quality our ability to markup.

Not all stamps are for approvals and submittals, sometimes we need to clearly markup changes, but our field teams are limited by the basic drawing tools where their work is frankly a bit ugly where they try to hand sketch a small pump or valve icon onto the page.

Fully agree with this idea: having a customizable stamp palette for PID markups would make a huge difference.

With the current markup tools in ACC, redlining PIDs is unfortunately far too slow and impractical for real production use. The basic line‑drawing tools simply don’t match the speed or clarity needed when working with standardized PID symbols.

Instead of Autodesk trying to build and maintain complete symbol libraries for different industries and standards, which would be a massive and never‑ending effort, the most effective solution would be to allow customers to create their own stamp/symbol libraries, for example using PNG images.

A user‑defined stamp palette would let each organization build the symbol sets they need, follow their own standards, and work efficiently without having to draw each symbol manually. This would significantly improve the usability of ACC’s review tools for any team working with PIDs.

This functionality would not only streamline workflows but is likely the most scalable and realistic way for Autodesk to support the wide variety of PID symbol standards across industries.

Beyond process engineering workflows, a customizable stamp library would benefit many disciplines and use cases across ACC, from architecture, structural, MEP, and civil to electrical, manufacturing, commissioning, QA/QC, HSE, and field inspections. Teams could maintain their own symbol sets for reviews, RFIs, submittals, as‑builts, and site markups, ensuring speed and clarity without forcing Autodesk to standardize every industry’s symbols. This flexibility would maximize adoption across diverse project types and organizations.
