In RFI's, you can add correspondence by picking from the references. However, the correspondence is not actually linked to that RFI, and there is nothing in the RFI that shows that correspondence was sent. If correspondence is linked to an RFI, it needs to show up in the references when viewing the RFI. The reason this is needed is because we want to document any and all correspondence related to that RFI and have it linked to that RFI for future reference. For example, if a subcontractor ever says they didn't receive the RFI, if the correspondence is linked to that RFI, we can easily find where and when it was sent to them.
