Content catalog tags - adding tags to the content

Currently, adding tags to families is very cumbersome. If I scroll thru the list of tags I can check several tags to add at one time. However, if I search for a tag (this is essential as we have a laundry list of tags) I have to pick the save button and ten open the dialog and select the next tag.  Many of our families have 3, 4 or 5 tags.

it would be very helpful to have an Apply button, allowing me to stay in the tag list dialog box and save after I’ve selected all my tags.

also, have a preview list on the right side with the tags I’ve selected

It would also be helpful to be able to create predefined groups of tags to add to similar family types.  Base cabinets, Tall cabinets, Wall cabinets, HM doors, Alum doors, Various types of equipment, etc

@TomHEV9PF The first part of this now works.  You need to search, select the item you need, clear the search field, search for another item, select it, etc.  Then when done, hit save and all of the items you've selected will be added.

The second part of your idea is good too though.  Like a Saved Tag Group type thing.  I like that idea.

@Ric_Weber Thanks. it looks like they resolved a few issues we were having. It's been pretty stable lately.

It would be nice to also have the option to show which saved searches, if any, the content was saved to in the Browse dialog. I've been uploading more content that was showing it had previously been uploaded and it took some time to track down where I saved it.

@TomHEV9PF Based on what you're saying it sounds to me like you are using the collections and Content Catalog in general kind of like thinking about folders on a computer.  Stop.  You need to rethink how you deal with CC.

Everything is in one bucket.  There is no need to "locate" where something is, it is all within the one hub bucket.  The Collection names are nothing more than specialized tags.  A single file can be in every collection, a few of the collections, or one collection...  because it is nothing more than a tag.

I don't use the Browse tool for much of anything.  Honestly, I have suggested they give admin a way to turn that off for the users entirely.  I don't want them touching Browse.  Use the Search Tool and the Saved Searches.  By searching for a file, it will tell you what collections it is in and the ability to change the collection "tag(s)" so to speak.

Your suggestion of being able to see what saved searches would pull up a particular file is interesting.  That would definitely be a background database feat to pull that information out.  But I think it would be do-able and could definitely be helpful to an admin.  The way you phrased that though, "...option to show which saved searches, if any, the content was saved to".  Content is not saved to anywhere except your hub bucket.  A saved search is not a repository, it is a pre-created search using the search tool options.

Hope these suggestions help in your understanding.

@Ric_Weber Sorry for the confusion. Yes everything is in one bucket, I have Collections set up that contain similar components, I have created a lot of Saved Searches (which are really nice once you figure out how to correctly set them up, LOL) to make it easier for the users to find what they need. The problem I was having was, I was uploading content and getting the indicator that it was already in the Catalog. I then had to look at the tags to try and figure out which saved search it was included in. The other problem I had was, I use the different collections to define my Saved Searches and when some of the content was originally uploaded, it wasn't included in the right 'collection' so it wasn't showing up in the saved searches. Anyway, not the end of the world, I thought it would make finding existing content a little easier.

As far as the Browse, I'm with you. One less thing for the users to mess with. They have a tendency to get themselves into trouble.
