Currently, there is an option to save submittals to Files when closing and distributing; however, on consultant-driven projects, it is typically the Contractor who closes the submittal, and as a result, the submittal often doesn't get properly filed. It would be a significant improvement to introduce a setting within Submittals that enables automatic filing of closed submittals to a designated folder. Ideally, this folder could be predefined per project or submittal group. Bonus points if the system also supports applying custom attributes—such as spec section, Type, Package, etc.—to the filed submittal automatically, based on the submittal metadata. This would ensure more consistent document organization, reduce manual effort, and improve traceability and compliance across teams.
