Bridge - Allow live update of data flow through bridge

Bridge - Allow live update of data flow through bridge

Hi all,

There have been many discussions about the limitations of the Bridge tool. While it offers some useful functionalities, there is still much potential for improvement to make it a more efficient tool for working with complex data structures. For instance, auto-syncing additional data structures would greatly enhance its usefulness.

At the very least, the Bridge should provide a live representation of the data flow between bridged projects to ensure it remains up to date. Currently, when a bridge is created between projects, a static snapshot of the bridge is captured at that moment. This snapshot can be viewed in the Bridge section. However, once any changes are made to the data or structure, the bridge overview does not update accordingly. This leads to an outdated bridge, which is useless.

It would be extremely helpful if the bridge could automatically reflect any changes made to the data or project structure. This would show the current state rather than an outdated initial snapshot. For example, when creating a bridge between two projects in a folder with a complex data structure and then adding or deleting a subfolder or file, the bridge overview should update to reflect these changes. Currently, it continues to display the original static version. When you click on the deleted folder or file, a pop-up window appears that says, "Can't view the file. It may have been deleted" or "It may have been deleted or you don't have permission to view it right now. Contact your project administrator." As a project administrator, I think there should be more administrative functions, especially when you want to look up what happened, when, and why, and alter it, but the system's response is to contact yourself.

Many ACC users would appreciate modifications to the Bridge tool that would transform it into a dynamic tool providing a more accurate and efficient way to manage complex data structures.

Make the Bridge tool great again!

Thank you.
